What is love? Alvin Kernan believes �love is not an end in itself, but a means to an end, fashion, pleasure, civic peace, being well provided for.� I disagree. I believe that love is an indescribable feeling that a person gets when meeting someone that they are destined to be with. It is a feeling like no other, a feeling that everyone should get to feel at least once in their life. Love can also be a horrible feeling though. Love hurts at times, but when love is true and pure, and treated right, it can be amazing. When you love someone, it feels like it is only you and that other person, no one else exists around you. I think Romeo and Juliet are a good example of true love because; they went to great lengths just to be together. The minute Romeo laid eyes on Juliet, it was as though they connected, and it was love at first sight. Even though they both belonged to families that hated each other, they still found a way to be together and get married.
