She walks into the cold white room where a man stops her, she looks at him, “Is she going to be okay?” The man looks at her and shakes his head; “We need more information about her past mam, before the specialist can tell what is going on with her.” She looks at the child lying in the cold hospital bed, “Can we go somewhere private, so I can tell you the story?” He shakes his head and points to a little room down the hall.
“It was so long ago, she probably doesn’t even remember the details.” They sit down and the doctor begins, “How long ago are we talking about?” She looks down and begins to cry, then looks back up, “ Since she was four, that is how long she has kept it from everyone.” The doctor leans forward, pushes record on the black tape machine, and sits back, “ I am ready whenever you are Mrs. Cranfield.”
“ I don’t know if I can remember all the small details.”
“Please try, it is very important to finding out what caused this.”
