The Story of a Nobody by Anton Chekhov Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
By the end of The Story of a no body by Anton Chekhov it would be plausible for one to come to the conclusion that the roles of two of the main characters, Stepan and Zinaida Fyodorovna had come to a point of complete reversal. Stepan, a spy posing as a manservant in the home of the son of a dignitary whom he was to extrude information about and execute if opportunity presented itself. Zinaida Fyodorovna the mistress of Orlov, Stepan’s master, who entered the home Stepan was working in after leaving her husband to join Orlov. The character’s through the course of the story become in tangled in each other’s affairs as Stepan fails to complete his task and Zinaida Fyodorovna’s relationship with Orlov fails and these two character’s run away with each other.
In spite of the differences in age, experiences, and motivations the character traits of the three main characters do overlap at times, which could lead one to easily compare them against each other, especially the notion of the before mentioned reversal of positions with Zinaida and Stepan. However this examination is complicated......
