Parkinson�s Disease About 2% of the population develops primary Parkinson�s disease between the ages of 55-65 (�Parkinson�s� Online), First formally recognized in 1817, Parkinson�s disease is a progressive disorder of the extra pyramidal system, a neural network located in the brain that is part of the motor system involved in the formation and usage of dopamine. Parkinson�s disease, causes a deep physical and emotional impact on its patients, and though there is no cure, patients can find relief with treatment. There are five different types of Parkinson�s. Two of these are Post encephalitic and Arteriosclerosis (Landau.28) In post encephalitic Parkinson�s, patients stay in a frozen-like state, unable to talk, move, or interact with others.
