Lithium Carbonate Lithium Carbonate is classified as an antimanic drug used to control mania in manic-depressive and bi-polar individuals. Lithium helps you to maintain a more balanced state, without swinging from highly elated, over-excited state to that of being very sad and depressed. Lithium can prevent or reduce these episodes. Also called Eskalith, Eskalith CR, Lithobid, Lithonate, and Lithotabs; Lithium Carbonate is prescribed in the following forms: capsule form of 150 mg, 300 mg, and 600 mg; In tablet form for extended release of 300 mg, and 450 mg.
