The best thing for the entire continent of Africa is for all of the intruders that think that they can make a difference, or pretend to, to just leave the African people as they are. In The Poisonwood Bible and King Leopold�s Ghost, there were two very similar scenarios at hand. In both of these stories, there have been intruders thinking that they are going to make the Congo a better place, even though they make the lives of all of the people around them so miserable, to the point that they can�t take it anymore. Both Nathan Price and King Leopold are driven men with very important tasks that they both want to accomplish. They both only look out for themselves. Nathan Price says that the reason why he is in the Congo is because he wants to bring �salvation into the darkness� and rescue the Congolese from what they are doing to themselves. The true reason why Nathan Price goes to the Congo is because he wants to redeem himself for being a coward in WW11. He is a self-centered man who only wants to satisfy his wantings and cravings. King Leopold, on the other hand, wants the Congo ......
