Many individuals interpret the meaning of love in comparison to marriage in different ways. For some it is a means of financial security, or it is merely of a physical attraction, and for others it is based solely upon the fact they are in truth, in love with that person. In the novel Pride and Prejudice, there are many different people who understand the meaning of love in differing forms. The eldest of the Bennet girls, Jane, is described by Elizabeth saying “You never see a fault in anybody. All the world are good and agreeable in your eyes. I never heard you speak ill of a human being in my life” (Austen, 10). Knowing this about Jane’s personality, one may be led to believe that she easily falls in love, which may cause her love to be untrue, or based upon a bond that is simply not real, but comfortable due to her non-judgmental attitude.
