Patricia Hudson October 26, 2006 2nd period Enghlish II Honors Revenge in The Crucible Have you ever wanted to get revenge on someone for doing something that you didn't like? Everyone does from time to time. Revenge plays a major role in the story, �The Crucible.� The doors have now opened for all of the towns' people to express their hatred toward their neighbors that they couldn't express before due to a stricter society, this leads many people to seek revenge against society, enemies and also neighbors. The three most important people that sought revenge throughout The Crucible were Abigail Williams, The Putnam's, and the young girls in Salem. First of all, Abigail wanted revenge on John Proctor's wife, Elizabeth. She threatened the girls who watched her put a curse on Elizabeth. She says, �Let either of you breathe a word about the other thing, and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you� (Daniel, 837).
