Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21st 1685. Bach was the son of Johann Ambrosius who was a court trumpeter for the Duke of Eisenach and of musicians of the town of Eisenach in Thuringis. For many years members of the Bach family lived throughout Thuringis. Johann Sebastian was taught by his father to play the violin and the harpsichord. He was invited to a art organ playing by this famous uncle , Johann Christoph Bach. When he was eight years old he went to the old Latin Grammar School. Bach was taught reading, writing, Latin grammar and scripture. The boys in this school had to take choir class at St.Georgenkriche ,which gave Johann Sebastian an opportunity to sing in the regular services and as well as the near by villages. At an early age Johann Sebastian lost a sister and later a brother. When he was only nine years old his mother died. Barely nine months later his father also died.
