Isaac Newton There were many important contributions made to the world in the early 1700s, but Isaac Newton�s discoveries stand out as one of the most important. As a scientist and mathematician, Isaac performed many experiments and made many contributions to the math and science world that are still used to this day. Isaac was born prematurely on December 25, 1642 in Linconshire, England. Named after his father, Isaac never knew his father because he died three months before he was born. His mother, Hannah Ayscough got re-married to Barnabas Smith, a minister, when Isaac was three years old, and was then forced to live with his grandmother. Isaac attended King�s School in Grantham. The headmaster there persuaded Isaac�s mother to let him attend a university because Isaac showed in school his love for learning. In 1665, he earned his bachelor of arts� degree at Trinity College in Cambridge. In 1665, he was forced to move back home because of a plaque outbreak that had caused the college to close.
