Sociology Sociologists have many varied paradigms of thinking. From the beginning of time to know, these paradigms� have either evolved and faded away, but for the most part all of them exist in some form or fashion in the way sociologist attempt to explain our society. Some key paradigms over the years include the functionalist theory, which focuses on the order and stability of a society and the reason for it. The conflict theory is one that focuses on the conflicts of everyday social existence, and how it can be positive more than negative as to facilitate social change, Karl Marx was a conflict theorist. Interpretivism is a key paradigm, where sociologists attempt to focus on how people of a particular social system view reality, and attempt to interpret it. Allan Johnson in his book The Forest and the Trees, talks about the model he thinks people utilize to view today�s world, which is the individualistic model. He believes that sociologist tend to look at, and realize they are a part of, the bigger picture, and how peoples actions in a society tend to effect the bigger......
