King Leopold's Ghost All over the world and throughout time there have been many events that Have shaped the way human life is viewed as a whole. Some of these historical Events have had negative effect on human life and one may argue that these events would best be forgotten. In the book, King Leopold's Ghost, author Adam Hochschild chronicles the colonization and inevitable destruction of the Congolese society using forgotten writings and interviews from actual people involved as the predators, victims, and their saviors, and the people who actually wanted to bring attention to this atrocity. The story follows many of the key players in the Congo, such as George Washington Williams, William Sheppard, E.D. Morel, and Sir Roger Casement, all of whom were enemies of Leopold. Initially, King Leopold was bored with ruling such a small, ignored country. He wanted more, including colonies like all the major powers.
