Are people born homosexual, or does society play a role in the factor? Homosexuality is the attraction to the person of the same sex. In today�s world, not many people are accepting of homosexuality; however, the acceptance has grown. Extensive research has been done to find out the true meaning(s) of homosexuality. This research was done in the early 1990�s by Simon LeVay and Dean Hamer. The research has been focused on; but not limited to, the origin of homosexuality, psychosocial theories in society, childhood indications, hormones and genes, birth effects, the human brain (the �gay brain�), adaptations, and types of homosexuality. This paper mainly focuses on: the failure of Psychosocial Theories, the �gay brain�, and Hormones. The �failure of Psychosocial Theories Chapter� shows that the theories mentioned were proven to be false by the author.
