Red Sox owner John Henry proclaimed of the happenings, “It was the greatest comeback in baseball history.” The Red Sox were trailing their longtime hated rival opponent, the Yankees, 3 games to none in the best-of-seven game series and were all but left-for-dead by their critics in the series. Previous to this match-up no Major League Baseball team had ever overcome a 3 games to none series deficit before.
