My brother Nicholas is a very energetic person so when he is really sick you would know. A couple of days before Christmas my brother got a job as a ball boy at a basketball classic. My brother was drinking and urinating a lot but he didn�t think anything of it. On December 26, 2004 my brother, mother, and I went to the Medical College of Georgia Children Emergency Room. That�s when we found out that Nicholas had Type 1 Diabetes. Nicholas blood sugar was so high he was rushed into the Intensive Care Unit. Type 1 Diabetes is a disorder of the endocrine system; it is also characterized by he body inability to use blood sugar.
