In this 1976 made for television movie, �Sybil�, Sybil Dorsett played by Sally Field is a young woman who is suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder. According to All Psych Online, �The primary characteristic of this disorder is the existence of more than one distinct identity or personality with the same individual� (All Psych). In the movie Sybil, we get a closer look into the daily struggle of this sweet yet deeply disturbed young woman. Dr. Cornelia Wilbur played by Joanne Woodward is a psychologist who befriends and treats Sybil and eventually uncovers the shocking details of her torturous childhood. Sybil Dorsett is a young woman living in the vast city of New York and working as a partime substitute schoolteacher.
