As the corporate world becomes competitive, it is extremely important that corporations are able to raise large amounts of capital. Whether it�s short term or long term capital, corporations need capital to flourish above the rest and survive. Short-term capital is realized in one year or less, while long term capital is realized in more than one year. Corporations have the ability to raise capital by utilizing sources from the U.S. Financial Markets. An example of these markets is the money market which includes loans, certificate of deposits and treasury bills. Another example of the U.S. Financial markets is the capital market which includes the stock market and bond market (Wikipedia, 2006). Money markets are short term investments, while capital markets are long term investments. Furthermore, corporations employ investment bankers as advisors on raising capital and buying and selling securities.
