Section 1 Humans used to be considered the only animals on earth that could demonstrate �higher level� thinking such as solving problems, communicating with others, memory, and understanding basic concepts. This way of thinking has changed and is dramatically false. Due to older, as well as more recent studies, scientists, animal behavioralists, veterinarians, and anyone who works with animals have proven the capabilities of animals. For example, hundreds of species are able to communicate with each other, such as bees, prairie dogs, dolphins, and elephants. Primates and mice faced with complex problems or challenges are able to find a solution. Dolphins and primates can recognize themselves in a mirror, and bees are able to make and remember a mental map of where sweet nectar is. Obviously these animals previously described must show some sort of thinking, but there are still those who disagree. I believe that some animals can be smarter than some humans. Dogs are able to tell when someone is sad, happy, or stressed without talking to them; a trait that many people don�t......
