Stress is a combination of external stressors and our response or the physical and psychological strain we experience as a result, caused by an interaction between an individual�s emotional, intellectual, social, and physical resources and the demands on him or her. A type of stress that a student may encounter would be role ambiguity (information deficiency); for instance, too much workload, missing lectures, and overload with activities. A number of studies have shown role ambiguity reduces organisational commitment, involvement and satisfaction from university. It increases reported tension, anxiety and the intention to drop out of university. Role ambiguity is likely to become even more prevalent as roles become increasingly �fuzzy� as the pressure on individuals for group working and deadlines for assignments grows. It becomes unclear what responsibilities, duties or tasks take priority.
