Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, is a play about a young man who seeks revenge for his father�s death, after an incestuous affair. The play is a perfect example of a piece of literature making sense of human experience, and Horatio will �speak to th� yet unknowing world� and tells of unnatural acts, accidental deaths and murders. Fratricide is exposed in the play when King Hamlet is murdered by his brother, Claudius. The ghost, who takes the form of King Hamlet, reveals �The serpent that did sting thy father�s life now wears his crown� (I, V, 39-40). Claudius is the �serpent� of whom the ghost speaks of. Soon after the murder of King Hamlet, his brother, Claudius, marries his sister in law, Queen Gertrude. The incestuous affair between Claudius and the Queen is reported by the ghost of King Hamlet �Ay, that incestuous, that adulterate beast�won to his shameful lust the will of my most seeming virtuous queen� (I, V, 43-46).
