Stand By Me Essay �Stand be me� is a film set at Castle Rock, Oregon in 1959. It is about a journey of a group of three boys and their leader, Chris Chambers. The narrator of the story is Gordie Lachance. They all set out together to go find the dead corpse of a missing boy. A major theme dealt with in the film is journey and discovery. In the first section, the issues and solution of each of the main characters are discussed. In the second section, we shall see the symbolism of the body, train tracks and the maturing of Vern. Lastly, we shall see how the last scenes of the film had such an impact on their growth. The four central characters are Gordie Lachance, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp and Vern Vessio, all of whom are twelve-year-old boys. All these characters have their own private issues. Chris belongs to a family of alcohol and abuse, while Teddy had his left ear burnt by his father who has never been the same after coming back from a war.
