In the late 1880’s to early 1890’s Steve Bloomer was the top dog in soccer. That is until Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele` came around. He dominated the sport for over 20 years. Pele` is the king of soccer and effected many countries like America and Brazil.
Pele` grew up in a small village called Tres Coracoes in Brazil. His family had very little money and could not support themselves very well. Pele’s father was once a professional soccer player but had a knee injury that ruined his career. His father started teaching him everything he knew when Pele was only five years old. His first team was formed by himself and he call them “The Shoeless Ones” but soon changed their name to “Amerquinha”. There he was recognized by Waldemar de Brito, a Brazilian premier player, when he was only 11 years old. He then tried out for a professional club called the “Santos”. Ten months later he was asked to play for the Brazil national team, where his career really took off.
Pele joined the Brazilians and played in the 1958 FIFA World Cup he was the youngest player to ever play......
