What Is Art? Art is everywhere in the world. Art is a reflection of a society�s way of thinking. It can also be a reflection of a person�s innermost thoughts and feelings. Art is in a painting or a drawing. It is in a book or a movie. Art is in a sculpture or a building. What is art? That is the issue that is going to be argued in the following pages. Is there art in a nude sculpture? Are random strokes of a paintbrush considered art? Is a Christian novel that lacks personal creativity and sticks to strict rules and guidelines to be considered art? Should art be restricted to certain rules, or should art be free to be as creative as a person wants? This issue has been brought up over the years by different groups. Some Christians have been outspoken on the need for all Christians to evaluate art in ethical and religious terms.
