The Enron Trial Fortune magazine named Enron the most innovative company in 2001. Enron ranked seventh in the list of Fortune 500 companies. The company�s shares had been selling at a high price, giving high returns to its investors, but a series of accounting scandals led to the fall in the share value (Hoskisson 130, 136, 137). The following chart that has been retrieved from http://www.balancedscorecard.org/images/enron_chart.gif shows how the stock price for Enron fell from 2001 to 2002. Accounting scandals and the tremendous fall in Enron�s share value led Enron to file for bankruptcy in December 2001. This at the time became the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history (Hoskisson 130).
