Manipulation Throughout Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, characters tend to manipulate others, mainly Ender himself. Ender is the third in a family of child geniuses, he is selected by international military forces to save the world from destruction. Since ender is supposed to save the world from destruction, he is constantly being manipulated to do things, both positive and negative. Valentine is Ender's older sister and is the only person in the world who truly loves him, therefore she tends to positively manipulates him into things he may not want to do. She manipulates him into going with her to colonize the bugger worlds. Valentine tells Ender, “You’re a Wiggin… It means you are going to make a difference in the world”(Card 235). Valentine appeals to Ender, for her sake, to go save mankind. She leaves hating Graff for forcing her to convince her brother to return to where he does not want to go, but she knows that it is for the best. Valentine also writes a letter to Ender at one point that helps him get control of himself. She writes. “You are nothing like yo......
