In war, there is much destruction and death, yet comrades are brought together. In the novel All Quiet on the Western Front by Eric Maria Remarque a group of friends are drafted into the war they come together forming a bond that not even death itself could break. Also, in the motion picture “Gallipoli” two sprinters, frank and Archie, are brought together by the war but soon find out that it isn’t as glamorous as they had thought. Within the two stories, comradeship holds the men together through times of death and suffering.
Paul and Kat are a strong example of comradeship that truly has no boundaries. As the war passes on the rations become worse and worse, as a result Paul and Kat work together to hunt geese for food. “We are two men, two minute sparks of light; outside is the night and the circle of death” (94).
