In the essay, �Where I Lived and What I Lived For,� written by Henry David Thoreau, there are many quotes that can be used to relate to specific lifestyles of many people. One quote that caught my attention was, �I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumbnail.� This quote relates to my life in many ways. The meaning of the quote is that people should not overwhelm themselves with a great number of tasks. Instead, people should focus on a few things in life which would allow more time to achieve the tasks, and excel in those goals. This quote has directly related to me. For example, currently as a junior in high school, I am busy with a great amount of work. This is the critical year in high school and I am trying to focus on too many things.
