My Own Testimony One out of every three women in America will experience at least one physical assault by a partner during their life. I was apart of that statistic, but I am also a survivor above all. I was in a abusive relationship for three years. I always thought it would never happen to me, I am too strong of a person to let someone treat me with such disrespect. There are many signs to recognize if you are a victim of an abusive relationship. Your partner may have outbreaks of rage with no warning signs, they might belittle you and criticize you on your appearance or behavior. They put you down in front of friends and make it hard for you to interact with them. There outbreaks take place when no one else is around to help you. They tell you what to feel, what to think, basically who you are suppose to be. They have very set beliefs of a man�s and women�s roles in a relationship and society.
