During the historic battles it was a popular belief of the times, �to the victor go the spoils�. Because of this, many priceless artifacts changed hands due to the outcome of battle. In more recent history, art theft has become almost a game. Thanks to movies such as The Thomas Crown Affair, Entrapment, and Oceans� Twelve, art theft is seen as romantic, glamorous and almost heroic. We think of a James Bond type of guy, rich, sexy and romantic, going through some exciting, hair raising escapades to gain the stolen art. He is just a breath away from being caught, but somehow miraculously gets away unharmed with the stolen artifact in hand. Our hero then somehow manages to escape prosecution and never is held accountable for the theft. The truth of the matter though is that art theft isn�t glamorous, it isn�t sexy, it is a crime.
