Ethnic Poker Do certain ethnicities �trump� others? The cultural makeup of a person is much like a game of poker, when compared to people of other backgrounds. This raises the question, what is the royal flush in the ethnic game of poker? Gish Jen gives enlightenment to this subject in her essay entitled An Ethnic Trump. Jen attributes the �cultural trump� to color, ethnic features of a person, as well as the assimilation, or lack thereof, of certain cultures. The cultural background of a person is highly significant on how one is viewed by society and how that person sees himself or herself. It also gives further clarification as to why certain ethnicities are deemed more important than others.
