Most parents treat their children different based on their gender. This influences their behavior and personalities later on in life. Most of the time, girls are much more sheltered than boys. Parents feel that they have to be pampered as a result; they become more reliant on their parents. Girls are also given gender-specific toys like dolls that promote society�s values of what women should do. This increases the girl�s likelihood of fulfilling gender roles. Boys are expected to be independent and solve their own problems. For example, when I was younger, my father told me that if someone hit me, I should hit them back. As a result, I do not like to ask for help with anything unless I absolutely have to. Society tells boys to be tough and independent. I don�t think that these gender roles are really fair to either sex. Not all girls enjoy child-rearing, or housework, so it isn�t fair for society to expect that from them. Likewise, boys shouldn�t be ashamed of asking for help or showing their feelings. I think that society should start to undifferentiated so much between sexes.......
