Abstract This paper will show a crime data comparison on motor vehicle theft of two metropolitan areas in the United States. This data is composed by using highly recognized and respected information within the law enforcement community, the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) website. The two cities that will be in comparison are Dallas, TX. area and El Paso, TX., in 2004 and 2005. Crime Data Comparison in Two Metropolitan Areas The information gathered for two metropolitan areas was composed using the Uniform Crime Report (UCR). The UCR was developed in 1929 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police to develop dependable uniform crime facts. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was in charge of gathering, issuing, and creating an archive of all information in 1930.
