Summary of Milton's Paradise Lost Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Throughout history there have been many tales of lies, deceit, and treachery. None can quite compare to that story of Adam and Eve, and their fall in the garden of Eden. Milton eloquently portrays the story of Adam and Eve and their downfalls in his story Paradise Lost. Milton portrays the debates between Adam and Eve, Eve and Satan, and once again Eve and Adam in his book Paradise Lost in epic proportions. In all three of these debates the affirmative side always prevails. I feel that they are very good arguments but I do not believe I would have fallen for them, or more correctly, I would not have instigated them. Milton portrays the first argument between Adam and Eve as Eve’s absolute resolve to work alone in paradise. In the second argument, Milton gives up the debate between Satan, disguised as a serpent, and Eve in order for Satan to destroy mankind itself. In the third and final debate that Milton presents us with, Eve has vowed to convince Adam to eat the forbidden fruit.
