First, organizations are downsizing and use teams as a way to make better use of the skills of their workforce. Secondly, there is a marked shift away from directive, hierarchical leadership structures to more participative equality among group members. Thirdly, technology, competition and customer expectations require that organizations are highly responsive and adaptive to customer requirements. If one organization doesn�t respond another will.
