In his book titled The Cross and the Crescent, Richard Fletcher discusses the relationship between Christians and Muslims. The central focus of this paper will be on those relationships and how they proceeded to change over time. When the religion of Islam first started, it was a very new concept to the Christian followers. Most Christians could not comprehend the idea of �starting� a religion. They believe that the foundation for their studies and ways of life stem from thousands of years of life with God and the understanding of the teachings that have been passed down by the patriarchs of the faith. People today take the idea of religious pluralism for granted, but in these days, it was not the case, and that made the idea of someone beginning a religion even more implausible.
