The theories of the various causes of the Great War are abundant in the present era of history, but the legitimacy of these theories deviates. These causes include alliance systems, the arms race, the Moroccan Crisis, militarism and autocracy, the existence of country�s war plans, the Balkan Wars, and the July Crisis. These events in history did occur, but did they actually spark a war? During the years preceding the war the interests in North Africa and its resources was increasing. On a visit to the colony of Morocco, Kaiser Wilhelm II, who was not consulted in the imperialism of North Africa, made certain remarks concerning the freedom of the colony that challenged the policies of France. The Kaiser�s speech greatly angered the people of France and turned their views against Germany. Germany begins to feel surrounded by the newly formed alliance between France, Russia, and Britain and actually start to mobilize their troops in the case of a conflict.
