History is the story of man from the very earliest period to the present day. It is the story of the problems he faced, the successes he encountered and how he adjusted with the environment. As time passed, man's needs multiplied. With the result that many arts and crafts developed at a rapid pace. Along with farmers, the number of carpenters, weavers and blacksmiths also grew. With the rise of new skills, some villages developed into towns. What do you think happened when these towns began producing surplus goods? Naturally, they were forced to have trade links with their neighbors. Thus began what is known as town-culture, which is generally taken as the start of civilization.
