Robert Frost was a unique poet that holds a naturalistic passion for life that is out of the ordinary. Robert Frost’s purpose for writing is to enlighten us on nature and retain important values that apply to human life. Lots of people such as myself enjoy the works of Robert Frost for that general reason. “Nothing Gold Can Stay” is a short, but meaningful poem written by Robert Frost. “Nothing Gold Can Stay” emphasizes the changes that we go through in life. It emphasizes the fact that when you are young the simplest things appear golden and as you age things do not seem revolutionary anymore. “ Nature’s first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold.” The poem expresses the fact that good times seem good to us only because we compare them to the bad times.
