Fast Food � Persuasive Speech Arouse Attention Do you think that you grew up in a safe neighborhood? A study done by the Institute for Clinical and Evaluative Sciences found that �if an area had 10 to 19 fast food outlets per 100,000 people, then 35 extra deaths by heart disease were reported. If the neighborhood had over 20 fast food chains, then there were 62 extra deaths�(DiBattista 1). You may have been safe from crime, but not from the deadly affects of cardiovascular disease, obesity, and diabetes because of the growing amount of fast food restaurants in our country. We have grown up with a large availability of fast food, and as busy college students we can appreciate the convenience of fast food. As a junior in the nutrition program I am knowledgeable and concerned with the adverse health effects that fast food is having on our country and more specifically our generation.
