Violence and conflict are central to 'Romeo and Juliet'. Discuss this theme with reference to at least three scenes in this play. 'Romeo and Juliet' is a tragic play, which is about two families that despise each other (The Capulets and the Monatgues). At a party, held by the Capulets, the Capulets’ young and beautiful daughter, Juliet meets and falls in love with the Monatgue’s handsome son, Romeo. They can't be together because of the conflict between their families, and consequently, they both die for love. The play is regarded as the greatest and most famous love story of all time. The play opens with a prologue that summarizes what is going to happen and ends with peace between the two families. Although the play mainly deals with love, there are also many other themes in it, for example, violence and conflict. Many of the scenes in the play deal with the conflict and violence between the feuding families. The prologue informs us that the violence in the play happens as a result of an ‘ancient grudge’ between the two families, which leads to the tragic deaths......
