Humanism Throughout history, people can notice as the generations go on, ideas are improved based on those who proceeded. Those before us set the basis, while we take those ideas and change them to fit out society. In philosophy, you can see a noticeable trend which dates back to BCE. Philosophers who happen to study under other philosophers, conform to their ideas and add their opinions. Even nearly 1500 years later, after the Middle Ages were over and we entered the Renaissance, philosophers were studying ideas from many years before the Middle Ages even occurred. Even today, nearly 2000 years later, we are still influenced in our every day lives by the ideas of previous philosophers who set the bar for later philosophers. As the Middle Ages passed, we entered into a period known in history as the Renaissance. One notable philosopher of this time period was a man named Francesco Petrarch.
