GANDHI- A TRUE INSPIRATION FOR THE WORLD: Gandhi is the father of India�s Independence. He has made a true influence in the heart of Muslims, Hindus, Indians, and toward peaceful resolutions of disputes. He has worked hard and is example of how one person can make a difference in our society and culture. Gandhi had some what of a troubled childhood, but even with his worst personal problems, he never gave up. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2nd, 1869 in Porbandar, a small town on the western coast of India in the state of Kathiawar (Chapter 2- B.R. Nanda). He was born into a middle class family that was part of the Vaishya caste (Chapter 2-B.R.Nanda). His grandfather was Dewan or Prime Minister of Porbandar and was later succeeded by his son Karamchand who was Mohandas� father. Mahatma was fortunate enough to go to school in Porbandar (Chapter 2- B.R. Nanda). He was married to Kasturbai at the age of 13 during his sophomore year in high school.
