New Jersey vs. T.L.O. The Supreme Court case of New Jersey vs. T.L.O. is a celebrated case from the mid-1980s. A high school student claimed that a search conducted by the school�s vice principal, Mr. Choplick, was a violation of her fourth amendment right because he had no warrant or probable cause. In the case the school is represented as New Jersey and the teenage girl is represented as T.L.O. The fourteen year old and another girl was found smoking in the bathroom of Piscataway Township High school in Middlesex County, New Jersey. They were both brought to the assistant vice principal�s office and questioned. The other girl admitted to smoking but T.L.O. denied the accusations by saying that she had never smoked before in her life. T.L.O.�s purse was then searched. During the search of her pocketbook the assistant principle found a pack of cigarettes witch led him to notice rolling papers that he assumed was used for marijuana. Because of this, he continued to search T.L.O.�s pocketbook and found marijuana, a pipe, empty......
