Everyone grows up having dreams. The way of life in America has developed many different ways they believe the American dream is like. My father came from Guatemala when he was seventeen, I understand, for him to make that journey from a place that is all you have ever known to go to a place that you have never even seen must have been one of the most difficult decisions in his life. He came here for many reasons one of them being his mother. His mother came to America planning on getting a good job so she could send money to her children back in Guatemala. She made fifty dollars a week cleaning houses, which some people might not think is too bad but in reality for food, shelter, and to have money leftover to send to her children, it is a bad income. Her dream for her children was to be able to come to America and join her. My father believed this land would be the land of opportunity for him and his children, that is why he decided to come to America.
