Destructive is to be causing damage. Prejudice is racist comments. Destroying, to demolish, pulverise or destruct. The topic on hand is that the novel, �Dougy� shows that the flood was as destructive as the prejudice towards aboriginals in destroying the town, however this simply means that the racist comments made towards local indigenous people was just as destructive as the flood wiping out the whole town and leaving the town dead. To describe the flood all I can say is the word deadly. Imagine, water gushing towards you and destroying all in its path. Frightening. Now imagine someone standing in front of you, yelling, making racist comments. Frightening. Do see how the two link? In the novel, there was a war against the whites and blacks.
