I lay there like a rock, immune to all sound and movement, as if I were frozen in time-watching myself fly down the interstate on the uncomfortable, table-like bed. I could hear the blaring sirens yet they didn�t wake me and I could feel my body being jostled around in the speeding ambulance however my slumber was not disturbed. I saw myself there, lying like a paralyzed fish out of water. My chest rose and fell so quickly my ribs appeared as if they were going to protrude through my sweet, pale flesh.
