What Is Grand Passion?� What is Grand Passion? Grand Passion to me is an intense love for someone or something. It is the feelings that you have that you know that person or thing is for you. You will do anything and everything for them or it. In Carmen, Don Jose falls in love with Carmen when he meets her. She is the most beautiful and charming thing he has ever seen. When he is told to arrest her, he does, but lets her escape because his love for here is so strong, that being demoted or even fired does not matter. Carmen decides that she does not want to be with Don Jose and she falls in love with Escamillo. It weird for Carmen to fall in love, she comes off as someone who gets around, but she settles down for him. Don Jose comes back in the end to try to get Carmen back. She tells him that she loves Escamillo, but he will not take no for an answer. He begs Carmen to love him over and over again, but she tells him she loves Escamillo.
