Executive Summary Jonah discovered prospects of racial discrimination at Coulding-Henson�s British unit after a telephone conference with an English manager, regarding the placement of a minority Coulding-Herald Advance Management Program (CHAMP) recruit. As a Kelley-defined exemplary follower, Jonah was compelled to challenge this discrimination issue from within the organization. By neglecting some of Robert Kelley�s �Ten Steps to Courageous Conscious�, Jonah was not effective in initiating change on this issue of discrimination and his actions exposed him to certain preventable risks, such as damaging his work relationship with is immediate supervisor, Dan Newell. This case illustrates the difficulties of initiating change within an organization, even for an exemplary follower like Jonah.
