In the book Eragon a young boy finds a strange rock wherein lies his destiny. Eragon was written by Christopher Paolini who was fifteen years old at the time he wrote the book. If you want a book that will satisfy your craving for adventure, suspense and magic then you found it. Open it if you dare. Eragon is an adventurous young boy who grew up on the outskirts of a small town. Being the only one who dares traverse �The Spine�, a mountain range and forest behind his house, he naturally is the one who finds a strange polished blue rock. He brings the rock home wondering how it could�ve gotten in the middle of the forest and if it has any value. After deciding to sell it for meat for the winter he goes to the butcher shop in town. The shop is owned by his �arch-rival� Sloan. Sloan refuses to sell meat for the obviously valuable stone when he learns that it is from The Spine. Sloan claims that the stone is cursed which strangely is not far from the truth. After noticing strange rumblings by the stone Eragon is somewhat believing that it is cursed.
