Romeo and Juliet is a romantic tragedy between �a pair of star-crossed lovers who take their life�. As Juliet�s plan to fake her own death gets mis-understood by a young Romeo, he, in despair kills himself. When Juliet sees Romeo dead she too, takes her own life. Romeo is the only son of the Montague family and is �romantically inclined� man. At the start of the play he is deeply in love with a young lady called Rosaline but that all changes as he meets Juliet, the daughter of his �rival� family. Juliet is the Capulet�s only child, coming up to 14 years of age, is very obedient to her parents. But that is, until she meets the young man Romeo. Juliet's role in the play is very strong and important. Her actions that she takes make the play really dramatic and exciting. Her role also makes the Elizabethan audience shocked and appalled as she rejects her father�s plans to get her married with Paris. A quote proves this �he shall not make me a joyful bride�, she says this to her father basically saying Paris will not make a happy married woman. Elizabethan audiences watching this ......
